Do you know the Japanese game company Nintendo? Even people who don’t play games might know Super Mario. In November 2025, Nintendo’s official store, Nintendo Fukuoka, opened in Fukuoka. Right after opening, tons of Nintendo fans rushed to the store, and you couldn’t get in without a numbered ticket. In early February, I heard from a student that you could now enter without a numbered ticket, so I went to check it out.
The store is located in a building directly connected to Hakata Station. Hakata Station is the largest station in Fukuoka Prefecture. There are also many commercial facilities there. From the NILS Annex campus, you can reach Hakata Station in about 8 minutes by Shinkansen. Inside the store, you can find merchandise for “Super Mario,” “Animal Crossing,” “Pikmin,” and “Kirby.” They also sold game software for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. There were many items exclusive to the official store.
Nintendo’s official stores are only located in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Fukuoka (as of February 2026). It’s a spot where game lovers can enjoy themselves all day long. Please be sure to visit.
