As autumn approaches, the beautiful season of autumn leaves has arrived. This year, I went to Shirouzu Oike Park in Fukuoka Prefecture with many students to view autumn leaves.
Shirouzu Oike Park is a vast natural park in Onojo City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is known as a place where the autumn leaves are particularly beautiful in autumn. There is a large pond in the park, and the sight of the trees surrounding it turning red and yellow is a spectacular sight. The scenery of the autumn leaves reflected in the pond and the autumn sky is as beautiful as a painting, and it fascinates those who see it. It is a place where you can spend a relaxing time in a quiet space while interacting with nature.
The international students who participated in the autumn leaf viewing were all looking forward to the beauty of autumn in Japan. The scenery that we are used to seeing on a daily basis was fresh for them, and they looked at the autumn leaves with excitement. We heard many impressed voices saying, “I have never seen such colorful autumn leaves before!” Everyone’s smiles were overflowing as they listened to the sound of the leaves swaying in the autumn wind and the scenery of the autumn leaves reflected in the pond.
Viewing the autumn leaves at Shiramizu Oike Park will surely be one of the wonderful memories of the international students’ time in Japan. Even after the autumn leaves season is over, we hope to continue to cherish the beauty of nature and the interactions with people, and continue to have various experiences together. We hope to create new scenery and memories again next season. It was a moment that made us realize the wonderfulness of intercultural exchange.
