Student's Interview

Interviewer

Were the lessons easy to understand?

Jorge

Yes, they were appropriated for my level.

Interviewer

Do you think that your Japanese has improved?

Jorge

Yes, thinking in Japanese has improved. Slowly, I can read and write hiragana and katakana. (I was able to use a computer to produce them before.)

Interviewer

If yes, which skills?

Jorge

Produce readable katakana and hiragana usually. Vocabulary improved. I know more about Japanese culture. I know I completely detested okonomiyaki! I can use the local transportation system to go anywhere alone. For daily activities, I can ask questions and make people understand my needs.
Well, how much can one actually learn in a month when the earlier acquired foundation was not strong enough and having to commit with a working requirement of 4 hours a day minimum professional work in add schedule times.

Interviewer

What do you think about our teachers?

Jorge
All the teachers were very good. The best ones that I have ever had to teach me a foreign language! Going beyond the class facility were very good and appropriated, NILS has way recommendation wherever needed.
Interviewer

Are you satisfied with the learning environment?

Jorge

The classroom was clean.
I never felt uncomfortable with the teachers, or the lessons. Naturally certain things can naturally be confusing for foreigners while learning a new language.  As for Japanese, “adjectives” have hit the roof as far.

Interviewer

Which activity was the best?

Jorge

All the activities were very good. I think the best one was the Kanji painting activity, as it would be nearly impossible for a non-native to figure out how to do it alone.

Interviewer

What other kinds of activities would you have liked to experience?

Jorge
Learn how to behave in a Yakitori Tatami restaurant. Of course this would not need to be sponsored by the school (I mean each one would need to pay for its share), but otherwise how would one figure it out alone?  Nobody goes alone to a Tatami restaurant, I guess, in especial knowing that this kind of behavers needs to be learned from a Japanese person.
